To create a stunning kitchen in a large new extension, combining two different door finishes to achieve the particular look required. To also seamlessly fuse together the kitchen with a large TV/living area in the other half of the room by careful choice of floor tile.
A magnificent kitchen which combines a Stoneham Fusion curved island and bank of tall units with a gleaming run of Bauformat handleless units in high gloss magnolia.
Working to an inspired colour scheme the client liked the look of the gloss handleless range but wanted a particular shade to set against this, which was achieved by using Stoneham’s bespoke colour service, which creates any colour desired and is matched to British colour standards. The client specifically wanted to match the colour of the units to a Crown Trade paint code number Z4390T.
Design wise the client wanted a bank of tall units along one side of the kitchen, which house Miele ovens, Miele fridge and freezer and pull-outs. The tall cupboards on the sink wall house a Miele coffee machine and Miele microwave. The curves and colour of the island reflect those of the bank of tall wall units, and house a Miele wine cooler, numerous pan drawers and a double fronted glass cabinet.
With nothing on the wall above the run of units housing the Miele induction hob, the meter wide space age Miele extractor is an eye-catching feature, as are the illuminated end shelves which reflect the green of vases positioned on them.
To complete the velvet smooth look of the kitchen the client wanted a polished matt surface for the worktops, so instead of a more ‘busy’ granite finish opted for a flat-coloured quartz.
The sink is Schock Solido cristalite with a Zip instant boiling/chilled filtered water tap.
The floor tiles are polished Tiburtina Beige 600 x 600 mm, and beautifully reflect the circular LED island plinth lights.
This was built on the site of the original kitchen of the house and the client wanted to keep the large size of the room partly as the family have dogs, and a spacious area was required for washing/feeding them. The units are from Colonial Kitchens in gloss white with a Mistral worktop. The tiles are Matt Brown brick style.
‘From design through to installation everything went smoothly. The kitchen design combining the two types of door finishes looks stunning and it is such a good, efficient kitchen and a joy to cook in’.
