Stunning His and Hers Master bathroom

The Brief

Having bought a house with two separate doors to the master bathroom from the master bedroom, our clients loved the concept of having a ‘Stunning His and Hers Master bathroom’ but were underwhelmed with the existing bathroom they had inherited.  A very small square shaped shower enclosure was tucked behind one door with a standard bath lined up against a wall – not making use of the generous space and shape of the room.  A dividing wall cut the space in half, thus reducing what could be achieved with the area and also cutting out the light which now falls through the room from two opposite windows.

Working with Mark a design was hatched, the centrepiece of which is a completely bespoke ‘His and Hers’ shower enclosure which spans the width of the room, and acts as a divide between two separate bathrooms.  As there is no shower tray on the market large enough to accomplish this, Mark commissioned a bespoke 2.4 metre level entry shower tray which was manufactured out of smooth matt finished Corian with two matching grates.

The Result
A completely unique, stunning bathroom with functionality that fits the clients’ needs 100%.

The 2 sliding doors and panels were made to order from the Matki Eauzone range out of 10mm glass.  The clients spent a long time working out the exact height at which they wanted the privacy glazed area of the shower to start and end, and Matki duly followed these instructions producing a pleasing and contemporary glazed panel which runs across the entire length of the shower enclosure on both sides.  The shower/s can be switched off/on by discrete Crosswater Digital chrome buttons placed both on the outside and the inside of the shower/s.

The clients wanted to keep continuity of style between the two bathrooms which have matching basins and wc’s from Duravit with individual douche valves from the Crosswater Kai range.  In the ‘Hers’ bathroom a roomy Patinato Clearstone bath was installed with its smooth stone finish echoing the soft tones of the shower tray.  Matching accessories were chosen from the Crosswater Central range with warm white LED Showerlights throughout.

It was felt that more storage was required in the ‘Hers’ bathroom, so a roomy Duo 800 Illuminated Aluminium wall cabinet was fixed above the basin, with an 800mm Illuminated Serene mirror above the ‘His’ basin.

The room is heated by a matching pair of Pearl Towel Radiators whilst the soft grey wood design of the Karndean flooring makes for a cosy surface underfoot.

The Feedback

“We are delighted with our new bathroom – it’s all we had hoped for and more. From walking into the showroom with a whacky idea, working on the design with Mark, selecting products and materials, through to unbelievably meticulous fitting and project management, the whole experience with KTB has been smooth, friendly, flexible and highly professional. Very many thanks, we will be returning for another bathroom!”
