Luxury Bathrooms in Victorian house

The Brief
The clients came to us with a blank canvas looking for ideas and advice.  They had taken on a huge project – the complete restoration of a 3 storey Victorian house that had previously been a Bed & Breakfast.  ‘We had no idea of what we were looking for – but we got total inspiration from the Showroom’ .  It was important to the clients to create a mood and an individuality for each of the 4 en-suite bathrooms.

The Result

Master Ensuite – the clients fell in love with our stunning display of a Duravit Luv vanity unit and bowl in Sand set against the backdrop of Minoli’s fabulous marble Marvel tiles.  This display features a half-tiled wall with a Matki Eauzone  glass shower panel and beautiful Swaddling brassware and shower jets in brushed brass finish.  The only difference the client made to our display was to choose Marvel Bianco Dolomite 750 x 750mm polished wall and floor tiles to complement the feature wall of Marvel Agata Azul large format 1500 x 750 tiles.

Ensuite Two – the Clients wanted to create a very feminine feel for this room with soft touches and warmth to it. Using the soft colour of the Vanity Hall Cashmere unit as a starting point – the clients really liked the combination of this with the textured tones of the Mirage Silver wall tiles.  A band of sparkly glitter was added with the Four Season Spring Mosaics. The spacious walk-in shower is from Crosswater’s Design 8 range and, as with Master en-suite and en-suite 3, the WC is from Duravit.  A feature the clients wanted to incorporate in 3 of their ensuites was a recessed shower shelf or niche illuminated by an LED light in the top of the recess.  Useful as a home for showering products and shown in this ensuite to sparkly perfection tiled in the Four Seasons mosaics.

Ensuite Three – the inspiration for this room came from the colour of the boat bath from BC designs.

The clients chose a striking colour from Farrow and Ball called Inchyra Blue which matched perfectly with the blue colour of a range of antiqued brick tiles called Luminous Lume, which were incorporated as a feature panel running up the wall from the mid-point of the bath.  Another feature illuminated niche above the bath showcases a brass tortoise.

The vanity unit was painted to match the Inchyra Blue of the bath and the clients chose a warm sand colour for the corian top as they wanted to avoid a white corian top.  The Inchyra Blue colour looks stunning against the neutral warm tones of Minoli’s Boost Clay tiles used on the floor and wall.  A tall MPRO basin monobloc complements the spacious Pearl countertop basin and the walk in shower is again a wet room configuration from Crosswater’s Design 8 range.

Ensuite Four  – the clients wanted a more contemporary feel for this room and used the blue of a painting in the adjacent bedroom as the colour of the painted Vanity Hall 2 door unit – which was painted in Lagoon Blue Matt.  A space saving short projection wall hung WC is tucked in one corner opposite a spacious 100omm x 800mm offset quadrant shower enclosure.

The bathroom is really bought together by a bold patterned floor tile recommended by Mark called Cementine Decor, which picks up on the blue of the vanity unit.

Feedback

“We like to touch and feel the quality of things so being able to see all the bathroom products and tiles in the showroom was a real help.  Also because Mark and Carolyn really know their products their advice was invaluable and they were able to guide us through all our decisions.”
