Classic clean lines kitchen

The Brief

The clients wanted a central island, and they also wanted a very plain, simple look for the kitchen with no wall cupboards. They knew they didn’t want anything on the surface of the island like a hob or a sink, as they wanted this space to be left completely free for food preparation and as an entertaining area. They saw the handleless kitchens on display in the Kitchen, Tile & Bathroom Gallery showroom and liked the classic look of these – in a light, neutral colour.

The Result

A handleless Bauformat Cube kitchen in Gloss Sand Beige with Siemens appliances throughout and Corian worktops. In keeping with the seamless look, the client chose an induction hob which maintains the uninterrupted flat surface of the Corian – which also flows seamlessly from the worktop into the upstand without any joins.
The client wanted to position the remaining appliances off to the side of the kitchen in the bank of tall units, with the built in microwave/oven placed in between the two other working ovens to form an attractive focal point and to provide maximum ease of use. There is plenty of space around the island which makes it easy to move from one area of the kitchen to the next.
