Dorridge Kitchen

By September 23, 2013 No Comments

The Brief

Initially the clients wanted a Stoneham, painted kitchen to replace their existing kitchen which was a good quality wood, but dated and dark. After extensive research and visiting many places to take a good look at what was out there, they changed their minds and chose a high gloss contemporary kitchen, with clean lines. They wanted to keep an existing Miele dishwasher but incorporate several space saving features and aids, such as a pullout rack for oils under the hob, Le Mans corners and pull outs in the bank of tall cupboards.

The Result

A Bauformat kitchen using the Rhodos high gloss door in a combination of cream for the main units and gun-metal grey for the bank of tall units. Mark suggested an Iostone worktop in Biscuit which perfectly complemented the colour combination chosen. The final touch, to seal the extremely light impression of the new kitchen was the textured cream ceramic floor tiles.

The clients had previously preferred gas hobs but a cookery demonstration convinced them of the advantages of induction, which held the added attraction of being easier to clean. They decided to go for Siemens appliances, which included a self-cleaning oven, plate warmer, extractor and microwave.

Storage in the kitchen was greatly increased by the addition of pull outs, plus deep pan drawers and cutlery dividers in the relevant drawers. The clients preferred a white sink and chose a Franke design with a Franke Mythos chrome kitchen tap.

Feedback

‘Kitchen, Tile & Bathroom Gallery is a great company to work with, and they have a really good showroom with kitchens, bathrooms and both wall and floor tiles on display. Perfect for one-stop shopping.

They have an excellent team of workers who know one another well and who cooperate superbly.

Nothing was too much trouble and everyone was very courteous and tidy at all times. They do need a lot of tea!

Finally, I must comment on Mark, who designed and managed the entire project, just to commend him for his extraordinary patience.

On the basis of our experience, I would have no hesitation in recommending KTB for your kitchen’.
